Hygge (pronounced hyu-gah) – a Danish term describing the feeling of warmth, cosiness, and comfort. It is a mixture of wellness, intimacy and happiness cause by the simplest daily actions or things, such as a steaming cup of coffee or popping wood in the fireplace. Hygge can be evoked by environment, design, food, candle light or warmth. One of the great ways to always have a hygge oasis at your reach – to build a sauna.
Sauna is a practical space where you can clean the dirt and clear your mind. Being at sauna helps relax, break from the world and sweat out all your daily concerns. During the cold season, when the weather is bad or simply when you are in a foul mood, a sauna can be a perfect solution to runaway from everything. To have the full comfort in sauna, it must be of high quality. “Maestro Cabins” offer saunas of various sizes, where you can create a hygge atmosphere for your self and the loved ones, but also can fit a lively group of friends.
To build a proper sauna, you will have to put some effort: you will have to take care of the foundations, roofing, insulation of walls and the roof, rain gutter system, plumbing, electricity, and other essential elements. However, this should not discourage you – all of this is for your personal pleasure and relaxation. Until you achieve the final result, many decisions will have to be made. You can choose from various types of roofing: bitumen sheets, shingles, steel roofing, non-asbestos slates or others. Also, depending on your needs, the specialists will help you choose the best option for wall and roof insulation. For eco-friendly insulation, a vapour barrier, beams, filler, and wind barrier are used. Of course, the walls are also covered in siding. It is relevant to install high quality steel and PVC rainwater downpipes that would reassure smooth water flow and protection of the sauna building.
As we are focused on helping you create a pleasant environment, we understand that every detail matters. Therefore, your sauna walls and floors of selected thickness will be made of the highest quality timber from Northern Europe or Siberia. Usually, saunas are built from glued wood which is stronger, but we can also offer a bit cheaper option of solid wood. In your wooden sauna that smells of nature, wooden double-glazed (or, upon your request, triple-glazed) windows will be installed. They will keep the warmth in and will allow you observe the surroundings outside. When you want some fresh air or to ventilate the sauna, you can choose one of the two possible window opening positions. Both internal and exterior doors will also be wooden. If you are willing to have a better visibility or it matches the interior design better, you can choose the doors with glass. Even though planning and creating a cosy sauna zone will require a lot of decisiveness, investment of saving and time, help of specialists, all the effort will pay off. After building your own sauna, you will always have things to do on a cold day, you will be able to cheer up and relax. The Danish hygge will always be at your reach. You can create an even cosier environment with the help of warm color light bulbs, essential oils or the smell of freshly made sauna whisks. A sauna is great because it allows you enjoy the peacefulness alone, just by being with yourself. However, if hygge for you associates with the sense of togetherness, you can enjoy the sauna pleasures with family or best friends.
