Read more in the article below.

Which parts of the house need the insulation?

Nevertheless, the walls of the log cabin contain the largest part of the house exterior, and the insulation of the roof and floor are also needed. Special attention should be paid to the windows and doors as well since they could lose up to 30% of heat energy.

Speaking about the walls of the wooden house, it is worth to mention the need for insulation depends on the thickness of the walls. For example, if the thickness of the wall exceeds 34 mm, the need for insulation is much lower than in the case of a wall up to 34 mm.

The insulation of the floor is recommended in any case as cold floors are one of the main problems of the internal temperature of wooden houses (rarely solved by carpets). The insulation of the floor is also necessary to maintain the ideal indoor climate and protect the interior of the insulated log cabins from unwanted problems such as moisture and mold.

The insulation of the ceiling is considered as having a crucial role. Since the roof ensures the protection of the house from all types of phenomena, roof insulation is named the most important of all the parts of the house. It not only allows for maintaining the temperature but also to ensures the good condition of the other parts of the house.

Why insulation is recommended?

To begin with, a log cabin, unlike a brick house, is not made of durable, solid material, which ensures tightness itself. Insulated log cabins are assembled from individual parts of the wood, which usually results in smaller or larger insulation deficiencies. Therefore, even spending summers in a wooden uninsulated garden house can also be less enjoyable due to the high indoor temperatures. Experts note - to feel the effectiveness of insulation, wooden houses do not necessarily have to be fully insulated, only the roof might be enough. The truth is, the wooden house acquires probably the best insulating properties when its roof is insulated.

The best materials for the insulation of your house

The most commonly used material for roof insulation lately is mineral wool. It not only retains heat in a wooden house but also allows to reduce heat energy consumption significantly. Even if it is not the least expensive insulation solution, and the use of this material will require a high level of qualification from contractors, stone wool has an extremely wide range of specialized applications. Another material specialist recommends often - polyurethane foam. It is difficult to obtain high-quality polyurethane, however, in comparison with stone wool, twice a thin layer to assure the same insulation is needed. The price of polyurethane foam depends on the density of the material directly.
